Know exactly what is on your shelves.
Stock, point of sale, customers and reports on one computer in your shop, working even when the internet is not. Install it with one command.
Install InventoryHQ
Paste one line into a terminal. It does the rest.
In PowerShell (right-click Start, then “Terminal”)
irm https://ihq.monolith.ng/setup | iexWindows will ask for permission once, to install the background service.
In Terminal
curl -fsSL https://ihq.monolith.ng/setup | shNo Homebrew needed. It asks for your password once, only to add the friendly address inventory-hq.
In a terminal (Ubuntu, Debian, Raspberry Pi OS)
wget -qO- https://ihq.monolith.ng/setup | shPrefer curl? curl -fsSL https://ihq.monolith.ng/setup | sh. It uses sudo for the packages it installs.
What the command does
Nothing is left to you. It is safe to run again later: it repairs an install and never touches your sales data.
Finds the newest version
Asks for the latest release and its checksum.
Downloads and checks it
The file must match its checksum exactly, or nothing is installed.
Sets up the machine
Installs what it needs, starts the app, and keeps it running after a restart.
Opens your shop
Your browser opens on the page where you create your admin account.
What you get
Everything runs on your own computer. The internet is for backups and updates, not for selling.
Live stock
Every movement counted, with low-stock warnings before you run out.
Fast point of sale
Ring up a sale in seconds. Print the receipt or save it as a PDF.
Reports that add up
Sales, margin and stock on hand, by day and by product.
Customers and groups
Keep customers, give groups their own discounts, see their history.
Nightly cloud backup
An encrypted copy of your data leaves the shop every night. Restore it on a new machine.
Updates itself
New versions arrive on their own, with a backup first and an automatic rollback if one fails.
Questions
What do I need?
A Windows 10 or 11 PC, a Mac, or a Debian-based Linux machine (Ubuntu, Debian, Raspberry Pi OS), and an internet connection for the first install. About 1 GB of free space.
Does it need the internet to run?
No. Selling, stock and reports all work offline. The internet is used for the install, the nightly backup and updates; if it is down, those wait and catch up.
Is the download safe?
The installer reads the newest release and refuses to continue unless the file matches its checksum. You can read the script before running it: open /setup.sh or /setup.ps1.
Can I choose the port, or install without cloud features?
Yes. Add options after the command, for example curl -fsSL https://ihq.monolith.ng/setup | sh -s -- --port 8080 --offline. On Windows, set them first: $env:IHQ_PORT = 8080; irm https://ihq.monolith.ng/setup | iex.
Where does my data live?
On your computer, in the inventory-hq folder (on Windows C:\inventory-hq), in a database that updates never touch. Every update takes a backup of it first.
How do I remove it?
Run the uninstall script in inventory-hq/current/deploy/<your system>/. It keeps your data unless you ask it not to.
